2 Tricks to Overhaul Your Health in 5 Minutes

There are 2 super easy tricks that will overhaul your health for good, and they take 5 minutes to incorporate! After my husband and I struggled with mold poisoning, thyroid issues, being told we wouldn’t be able to have kids, and a few other health issues too…my husband and I learned more than we could imagine about health!  We went the Western medicine route with doctors, tests and many prescriptions at first, but when they couldn’t pin point any of our issues we started doing extra research and looking for alternate routes. There is a huge place for Western Med and I am grateful for Doctors and Nurses, and I am grateful for preventative and Holistic approaches as well. Both have a place in this world and both should be celebrated. I have my Bachelors of Science in Nutrition, so I do have a background in using food as medicine. I was also raised in a home where alternative medicine practices were passed down and I have witnessed a few miracles in my day. Here are 2 things I have learned that I feel everybody needs to know!

 

1. HYDRATION: The very first and best thing you can do for your health is so simple. Stay hydrated. Drink more water than you think you need. This helps the body to filter through and release toxins in your urine. Did you know that the way the body gets rid of fat cells is through your urine? When you are drinking enough water, you are hydrating every cell in your body! You are supporting your liver and kidneys as they process through all the junk, and you are helping flush it all out. Most of us are dehydrated and don’t even know it. When you’re properly hydrated, some of your fine lines and wrinkles may disappear as well! So instead of grabbing a hot cup of Joe first thing in the morning (coffee actually dehydrated you more), start your day off with a 16-32 oz cup of warm water. If you have time, add half a lemon to the water and watch your waistline, and your insides thank you.

 

2. SYSTEMIC ENZYMES: The second thing that I believe EVERYONE should do is take digestive enzymes. Digestive enzymes have 2 significant roles. The first role is that they help your body digest and breakdown your food. Protease breaks down proteins, amylase breaks down carbohydrates and lipase breaks down fat. Our body naturally makes digestive enzymes but it isn’t always sufficient for a large meal or a difficult to digest meal. So it helps breakdown your food. The second benefit to digestive enzymes is overlooked but is so vital!!! WHEN YOU TAKE DIGESTIVE ENZYMES ON AN EMPTY STOMACH (first thing in the morning on an empty stomach) they have no food to break down so what do they do? They go to work! They act as a systemic enzyme now, which is just a fancy way of saying that they clean out your blood and help breakdown any invaders  they can find in your bloodstream. If you have leaky gut, then there’s undigested food that leaks into your bloodstream and can start autoimmune issues like allergies and sensitivities. What other invaders do they find? Well, bacteria and viruses have an outer layer of protein around them to protect them and guess what? Protease comes in and can eat that layer up so your immune system has a better chance at fighting those bad guys off. This is literally the best thing for your body and overall wellbeing. I will link the brand that I use…I take it every morning right when I wake up (mix it in 2 oz of water and shoot it). This brand is vegan, gluten free, pure, and my favorite part is that it has probiotics and probiotic in there too. I call it the muffin top eraser! I also take it after any large meals or if I have indigestion. It works really fast because it is in liquid form.
